hey how do i narrow the height of the subheader?

Hi,

to do this, please activate Header Minimalist option under Theme options > Header & Subheader > Header section.

It's because you use Transparent header layout. So or you will use different header style or below css:

.single-portfolio #Content {
    padding-top: 150px;
}

sorry, i add the css code in layout.css and custom.css but it seems not working

This css should be added into Theme options > Custom CSS & JS > Custom CSS section. But if it does not work, make sure you don't use cache and you don't have any errors.
