Yoast SEO, homepage title is duplicated

I have Yoast SEO turned on and Muffin SEO off,

however the homepage title is duplicated.

<title>Team X |Team X</title>


The rest of the pages work correctly

<title>About me | Team X</title>


Any ideas, Yoast is default install and nothing changed.

As far as we know, this is related with description or title in default wordpress settings Settings > General section. We think you should remove Site title and Tagline while you use Yoast.

It was because the HomePage setting wasnt selected in Settings > Reading.

Once the page was selected and saved it now works.

I have upgraded to latest version of Be and Yoast.

The issue is appearing again.

If i set title and description blank

then Pages only show their name in the title

<title>Home | </title>

If i put a title in default wordpress settings Settings > General
Then every page says this
<title> Pagename | Sitename.comSitename.com </title>

Its duplicated.

Yoast SEO is correct

<meta property="og:title" content="Home - Sitename.com" />

but your title tag is not.

Yoast was tested many times and with latest updated we finally fixed all fixes. We are sure something must be wrong with your plugin's settings so please send us access to your wp dashboard and FTP and we`ll have a look on it.

Hi

I know on previous themes, when I had this exact same issue, it was fixed by going into Yoast's settings and ticking the option "Force rewrite titles"

I have the same problem and forcing rewrite titles under Yoast Settings does not fix it

@monofase Turn off built-in SEO fields under Theme options > SEO section then and remove the title from Settings > General section.
