Muffin recent posts widget color and snippets

Hi, this is my site: https://everythingautism.org/

Just wondering if the blue line and active (blue background when clicked on) color can be changed to #1885AF instead of the blue that is there. I cannot find where you go to change it. Also, can article snippets be made to appear?

Thank you,

Emily

  • I just found where you can change the colors so I'm set for that, but how do I permit snippets? Does the widget support that?

  • Hi,

I do not want to misunderstand you.

Can you attach a screenshot showing what you refer to, please?

    Thanks

  • HI, I just want to know how to style the Muffin Recent posts widget so it includes snippets, that is, the first few sentences (or so many characters) of the post so readers can get a flavor of the article. Most recent posts widgets allow for snippets and also thumbnails. Do you have any documentation which references this widget?

    Thank you,

    Emily

  • Another word for snippet is excerpt, sorry. I was drawing a blank--please let me know. If I use a plugin Recent Posts Extended then I lose the blue bar and background which comes with the muffin themed widget, but I would like excepts to show.

  • You can add a Blog element at the bottom of your posts with the "Use as related posts" option enabled.

With it, you will be able to show except, and you will have many options for customization.

When you do that in Betheme -> Theme options -> Blog & Portfolio -> Blog, and set the related posts to count to zero, so you will not have this part doubled on your posts.

    Best regards

Hi, nothing I do under Blog & Portfolio impacts the presentation of the blogs on the home page, which is controlled by the Muffin Recent Posts widget which comes with BeTheme.

All I want to do is have a few words, excerpts, appear under the blog post titles. Can this be done in the CSS? Usually with post widgets, there is the ability to control display and styling in the widget itself.

With the Muffin Recent Posts Widget that comes bundled with BeTheme, I like the line and background highlight, but can't it display more than just the title? (I do have the date suppressed by CSS.) See here, look at the column on the right. Those are recent posts. I want more than just the title to show.

  • I thought that you referred to Recent Posts on single posts.

In this widget, there is no option to show an excerpt.

You would have to modify theme files, but we do not provide help with such modifications.

Instead, you can try to recreate this part with a query loop with dynamic data
