how can i create two sections: blog and events using PORTFOLIOS?

hello, I want to create two sections in my website: news and blog.

the blog will be made by posts, in the category of blog,

but the second section would be news, so I want also the user to be able to see some diffeent "posts" that would look like the blog, but are actually news.

please watch this video and let me know: https://somup.com/c0iVhPzlDB

questions:

  1. how i differenciate the two things: blog and events
  2. how do i make them appear on the page news: only the events? are those portfolios view?
  3. how i can create a timeline with the elements in elementor or in betheme builder?
  4. how can i edit the section "next article" at the end of the page POST?
  5. how can i change the voice COMMENTS under the title of the post and delete it?
  6. how can I change the author name? I want every expert in the platform to look like they wrote the article and not the ADMIN. I want the term admin to desappear.

if there are other questions, please check the video first.

  • Hi,

I suggest you check The Events Calendar plugin. With it, you will be able to divide posts and events easily.

You can check our video tutorial about it here:

    https://support.muffingroup.com/video-tutorials/how-to-use-the-events-calendar-with-betheme/

And link to their official website can be found here:

    Best regards

  • there is nothing you can offer as a different solution for my case?

and about the timeline there is anything you can suggest me?

  • i mean something that i have already in the website without downloading anything?

  • btw, can you tell me these:

    1. how i can create a timeline with the elements in elementor or in betheme builder?
    2. how can i edit the section "next article" at the end of the page POST?
    3. how can i change the voice COMMENTS under the title of the post and delete it?
    4. how can I change the author name? I want every expert in the platform to look like they wrote the article and not the ADMIN. I want the term admin to desappear.

i asked this about the posts for the articles. still i need to know these

  • Sorry for not answering your questions. I had prepared answers, but somehow I sent an incomplete message.

    1) There is no exact timeline as you showed, but there is a Timeline element available both in BeBuilder and Elementor, and you can see how it looks here:

    https://muffingroup.com/betheme/elements/timeline/

If you want to assign a link to it, you need to use <a> tag.

    2) It is an Elementor element. You can read about it here:

    https://elementor.com/help/post-navigation-widget/

    3) This element is Elementor's as well:

    https://elementor.com/help/post-info-widget/

    4) You can create WP users and later assign appropriate posts to them.

    https://www.wpbeginner.com/beginners-guide/how-to-add-new-users-and-authors-to-your-wordpress-blog/

    5) If you do not want to use an external solution, the only option I see is to base it on Post as you did. Instead of the element you choose, try Be Blog element. There you can choose categories:

    Best regards

  • hello, i do understand, thank you for the answers.

so i have a question for you, can you check this video: https://somup.com/c0ieIYzI9M

i downloaded the external plug in and tried to create events.

  • There is no option to use BeBuilder there, unfortunately. About the Elemntor, please see the following link:

    https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/k/using-tribe_events-with-elementor/

To add spacing in the classic editor, you can use our divider shortcode.

    [divider height="50" style="default"]

    Best regards

  • this works perfectly thank you

  • Hello, so I have two questions regarding your help in the creation of posts.

So, I still don't know how to change the name of the author, because the screenshot you shared here is very different from what I see if I click on QUICK EDIT under the post I want to edit:

there is no option for the author to change it, can you help me on this?

I have 20 users in the website included all the future authors of the posts, but simply can not find a way to put them on.

Also, my personal account is named ADMIN since I am the owner and the one operating in the backend, so it is displaying my name:

but the link is with my ADMIN name, that as you know, can never be changed once it is created.

So, shall I create a new account with another email? anyway, please help me find the solution to use different authors of the articles - posts.

2nd thing, I find it hard to understan how to use this sidebar for the blog

as you said for the one for the plug-in Events Caledar, as soon as you add something in the sidebar in the widget section, it should appear, next to the general page called BLOG - for me it is called Maelle Insights - and on the right or left of each single post, right?

So, why it doesn't appear for me?

I added the categories inside but I can not see anything.

I also tried to add it from the editing of the single post here:

    but nothing appears automatically.

do you need my credentials again to check?

ps: last question, I noticed that I can edit the single post settings here with elementor:

but can i edit these settings for ALL THE POSTS, like if I want the date to be linked or not like this:

    thank you so much!

  • I used the credentials that you sent previously.

    1) All your users have roles provided by some of your plugins. To assign a user to post, he needs to have for example, the role Editor.

    2) I can see that you have an Elementor template for single posts, and it might be the reason. Please disable it for a while to see if the sidebar appears without it. If yes, you will have to add Sidebar with an element.
