Overwriting font size with Custom css

It seems that it is not possible to overwrite the font size via css.

If I give my text a class name and then in the theme options / custom css the changes (background etc) are applied but the font size does not work.

I tried to switch off Auto font size, but it doesn't change anything, my css entry is overwritten.

What is the reason for this?

  • Hi,

    Please always attach a link to your website so we can check it out. If the page is offline(localhost), then our help will be limited. You will have to contact us when the page is online. Also, please make sure that the page is not under maintenance before you provide us with the link.

    It is always a good idea to also attach a screenshot showing your issue.

    Thanks

  • Hi Phil, thanks for the support. Maybe I can tell you what I want to do. I want to calculate my text on the whole page with vw, so that the text adapts smoothly to all sizes.

    e.g. with:

    font-size: clamp(1rem, -0.875rem + 8.333vw, 3.5rem);

    Unfortunately, this does not work because the CSS entries for the font-size cannot be overwritten.

    the website is here: https://www.temporary-url.com/A564E5

    Thank you!

  • If you want to overwrite all fonts on your website you can use the following CSS:

    html body *{
     font-size: clamp(1rem, -0.875rem + 8.333vw, 3.5rem);
    }

    Best regards

  • Thanks, I know how css works, can you please read the entire post?

  • Sorry for the misunderstanding. Can you share the whole CSS you prepared, please?

    Did you try adding !important?

    Best regards
