BeBuilder hanging

Hello

I'm new to BeBuilder, but am getting the message "Generating Page local css..." when trying to load the builder once I've published a page and want to go back into it. Meaning I can't re-edit a page.

I've disabled all plugins.

I've cleared and disabled the cache.

I've changed to the parent theme and back to the child theme.

Theme is version 27.2.11

All theme plugins are up to date.

Happy to give login details but can't see where to do that and them not be public.

Hoping you can help as I'm losing a lot of time trying to edit pages.

Naomi

  • Just done that now.

    thanks

  • Does it happen on a particular page?

I checked a couple of them, and they all load correctly.

    Best regards

  • it was those pages that I had built. I just went to have a look and one page opened properly (what we do). Came out of it again (to dashboard). Tried to go back in and it hung again.

The homepage seems to be OK. 'Find a NYC', 'what we do' and 'who we are'. Could it be something to do with pages that I've duplicated and edited. The ''find an nyc' page started off life as one of your demo pages.

Any of the demo pages I haven't edited are fine - e.g., about us.

  • Just tried again after 25 mins doing something else. Got into the 'what we do' page (loaded bebuilder) and made an edit. saved that edit. Tried to get in again. It hung. Viewed the page. Edit hasn't registered. Tried again to load the builder. Hangs.

  • That's all been happening in Safari. I've just tried it all in Firefox and it seems to be behaving much better. Shouldn't be the case though?

  • Hi, Chadding i've just installed a fresh install and i've got the same issue, tried uninstalling but still no joy :( cant use bebuilder at all, normal basic page editor works

  • Do you have any browser extensions added to Safari?

Please check if the same thing happens on incognito mode in the Safari.

    Thanks

  • Still behaving a bit weirdly in Firefox. By that I mean - I'm going well on 2 pages that I've been working on since moving to Firefox. However, going back to the Find A NYC page, the BeBuilder is not loading.

I'm starting to wonder if there's something about overriding global page options and setting a different subheading image for a page.. not sure though.

Safari incognito mode does seem to be working better. early days, but so far so good.

  • After 2 hours not had any further issues using safari incognito.

Hopefully whatever was causing the issues though will be sorted - can't imagine having to insist clients use safari incognito to do edits once the time comes?

    Thanks

    Naomi

  • If it worked correctly on incognito mode in Safari, it could mean that one of the browser extensions caused this.

Did you try disabling all your extensions and check if the problem persists?

We have checked it on Safari with no extensions installed, and the editing page with BeBuilder works every time we enter it.

    Best regards
