Won't allow me to upload a .ttf font file

Hi,

I am trying to upload a ttf font file, but it tells me "Sorry, you are not allowed to upload this file type." I have checked the list of allowed file types in the Mime Type Settings and it is allowed, and I have uploaded the Disable Real MIME Check plugin. So, it seems to me it should be allowed.

Can you help me figure out how to upload this font file? Thanks so much.

  • Nevermind. It has randomly started working. I'm not sure what the issue was, but it all seems to be working now.

  • Hi,

I am happy to see that it is working for you now.

For future reference, check if you have this file type upload enabled in Betheme -> Theme options -> Global -> Advanced:

    Best regards

  • Thank you! That option is enabled and as far as I know it was originally as well because I haven't touched it. But that's good to know for the future.

    Have a great day!

  • However, now that the font file is actually uploaded, it isn't displaying correctly. I also tried to upload it as a woff file type and even though I have uploaded other woff files, it's telling me that that file type is not allowed. So, something is still not correct.

    Any ideas?

  • Here is what the developer tool is telling me about the custom fonts that I have tried to add. The two fonts I have added to the custom fonts section are Switzer and BebasKai. Maybe I did it wrong, but I uploaded the two fonts to my media library and then I used those fonts to add to the custom fonts section in the Theme Options. I think that's the way I have always done it before. I have also installed the Mime type checking plugin that is recommended in the custom fonts section.

Refused to apply style from 'https://siennaranchchurch.org/Sandbox/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/BebasKai.ttf' because its MIME type ('font/ttf') is not a supported stylesheet MIME type, and strict MIME checking is enabled.

  • It seems to be related to the server configuration.

Please report this problem to your hosting provider, and they will surely be able to help you with that.

    Best regards

  • OK. Thanks. I'll give that a try.
