how do you know it's due to wpml? Did you get any errors related with wpml plugin? Did you tried to disable all 3rd party plugins except wpml?
It happened to me in another website, sidys.es (.eu, .cat, etc) and you gave me solution. I installed wpml and stop working
Now seems to be working, did you do anything? Could it be coincidence?
