  Only one domain with two subdomains for one client

  If sites will be completely different then you need 3 licenses. But if sites are nearly the same and the difference is for example between the languages, then you can make them with 1 license as we know. But will be better if you can contact directly with Envato in this case to be sure.

  for subdomains it's okay to have one license when the Homepage looks/it's the same.

  Ok, great. Each situation may be different and that's why we always recommend to contact with Envato. We got few similar situations in the past, but sites were different and Envato told them that they must get additional licenses. Also if someone is buying regional subdomains then also need to get additional licenses. So, like we wrote, each case is different and that's why it may look different.
