Theme Crashes When Made Live

Hi,

I really like the theme, but I'm having problems.

I've been working with BeTheme for the past few weeks on a staging server.

When I finally made it live, the site/database crashed.

I cannot use the theme because of many GET requests causing 404 errors.

Can someone help with this please? I'm not a developer, so I don't know how fix this.

Hi Keith,

404 error problems are not related with theme. This could happen because of settings on server side or you may did something wrong while moving website. We can suggest only to go to Settings > Permalinks section and click "Save changes" button. However, if this won't help, then you must look for a problem somewhere else.

I think they're mostly for 404 errors for jpgs and ajax, not permalinks. Here's a short example:

I don't have this problem with other themes.

When I activate this theme, I get these errors,

for other themes, this doesn't happen.

Have your customers ever come across this before?

I checked the IP addresses, and they all seem to belong to CloudFlare

Does Be Theme usually have problems with cloudflare?

I turned off cloudflare and activated the theme again, but the site crashed again... this time with other IPs... (doesn't seem related to cloudflare)

So if you mean images that you set under Muffin Builder, then you must use Muffin CB Migrate Tool which is changing the paths after migration. We thought that you mean something completely else.

Can you confirm if this situation is the right situation to use Muffin CB Migrate Tool?

On staging server, we design.

On real site, we import the design from staging server then manually upload all the images and fix the links.

Is this the right context to use the Muffin CB Migrate Tool plugin?

Yes, this is how it works. Images inside Muffin Builder are encoded and that's why paths to them do not change while site migration. We must encode content to keep it safely in the database.

Hi, now that I look at the error logs, I don't think this is the issue.

We only worked on designing sales pages, but the errors are all from blog posts (which we didn't design).

Please help, our site has been down for 4 days now, and we've been learning and designing with be theme for more than 3 months.

If above tool did not helped, then we have no idea what else could be the problem. If you will send us url to page where the problem is, we'll have a look on it and check if there is nothing what we can do on our side.

there isn't a specific url that is the problem

It's many jpgs and ajax problems (please see error log above)

The logs you got above, are related with retina images feature. If you did not used those images twice, then we don't know why the are trying to be loaded. But we got an option to disable retina feature completely. Hope this option will help you because we have no idea what else may help you. Retina feature can be disabled under Theme options > Addons & Plugins > Addons section.

Yes, exactly. If this option is ON, it means that retina feature is off.

Ok, just for anyone else with similar problems... I think I found the plugin that was causing the problem: EWWW image optimizer.

Also, WP Ad Manager Pro also slowed down my site significantly
