Google map coordinates

It seems that the maps feature only works with latitude and longitude. Is this true? And if it is true, why? Nobody drives around looking for grid coordinates. We drive around looking for street addresses. Is there some way to get the map to orient to an actual address?

yes, this is how map works. This is the most accurate way to set the coordinates. You can always use tools like http://itouchmap.com/latlong.html to find the address and get the coordinates.
In accordance to your map, please use +/- button (click few times -) and you will see where you set coordinates.
