  This can be done in Theme options > Getting started > General section. Option is called "Navigation arrows".

  Under Getting started > General ,
  there is no option "Navigation arrows"
  
  I am running version 2.5

  If you don`t see this option, you should definitely update theme. Latest version available on TF is 4.2.

  ok thanks, I have completed the site for client. If I update it will it affect what I have done so far? I have not done any changes to the template files in terms of functionality.

  If you did any modifications in theme files, then yes, But if you did not touched any theme files, then everything is stored in database and you won`t lose anything while future theme updates.

  thanks, also, can you please confirm that all colours that I have set up in Theme Options >>> colours will not be affected by theme update?
  What about some css changes I did also in Theme Options >>> Custom CSS, will they be reseted?

  None of colors or custom css will be affected. Those settings are safe because are stored in database. Update only overwrite all files with the new one.
