I lost my website after install please help?

Hi,

I uploaded the theme to one of my sites. I went to betheme demo data and imported the default theme, at first it showed my content in this theme and then I changed to another demo and I have lost all my content.. I went back to default be theme and it jus shows everything from the demo not like before. Is there anyway to get my content back and why did this happen?

Hi,

you can not import different demos per one site. Each layout have own settings and that's why previous layout has broke. Each pre-made layout must have own wp instance. If you want to start again, you should use https://wordpress.org/plugins/wordpress-reset/ plugin but this would remove all your pages, posts, etc. And after that, you can import pre-made layout again.

Is there anyway to revert to the site the way it was? Its luck it didn't have a lot of content but id like to get the site back. With pages and posts. ?

I'm the in the same situation - this thing broke my site, and the only solution is to reset the entire thing and start over? Shouldn't there be a way around this, or at least some sort of warning? Seems like a pretty big issue...

Yea there is no warning that this needs to only be for a NEW site? My site was very basic, home page and contact form only and has been lost

Yes guys, it is possible of course to go back to the last working version. But for that, you should contact with your admin and ask him for a backup.
