Button links won't open in same window.

Hi Muffin Themes,

I'm working on my 3rd Be|theme website and am experiencing a new problem with buttons.

All of a sudden, all buttons open links in new windows, instead of _self

The buttons in revolution slider however do work correctly.

I tried removing all custom css, but that did not help. I also tried creating a clean test page with nothing in it except for a button, but still no luck.

Can you please assist?

button shortcodes have target attribute so why don`t use target="_self" attribute?

Even having specified _self, the links still open in new tabs...

Has there been any resolution to this problem? I have the same issue. Applying different attributes to the target still results in the page loading in a new tab.

@arlomason Did you used shortcode properly, as below?

[button title="Download file" icon="icon-download" icon_position="left" link="#" target="_blank" color="" font_color="" large="0" class="" download=""]

If not, then please use it this way. More information about button shortcode and it's attributes, you can read in the documentation.

I'm using it exactly like you have it displayed above except for using target="_self". The button will still open in another tab. Just as a test, I copy/pasted your code above and changed only the link and the target, still opened in another tab.

@beesocialuk We do not support _self attribute. If you want links to be opened in the same widnow, you should leave target attribute empty. So it should be: target=""

I had the same issue after using WPML.

I found the (maybe temporary) solution in the panel 'external links' en set 'open external links' to the same window option.

Button links won't open in same window.
