Cant activate a sidebar on shop page

Hi

I wish to have the side bar showing on the shop page but when I select a sidebar im just left with a blank space down the side.

did you set sidebar layout (left or right) under "Page options" for SHOP page? Also, did you filled Plugin | WooCommerce sidebar with widgets under Appearance > Widgets section?
