HTML issue I believe

I am unaware of what this issue may be. I updated theme one time and this happened. I have been unable to fix it. I thought at first it was something with my cookies. Today I found out other people were seeing it as well. The first image is missing I believe much html. I am not sure which is why I am here. After I login and then I go to visit the site, no problem is there. Very strange. Please advise.

Theme files seem missing or something

  • Hi,

please send us url to site where you got this problem and we'll have a look on it.

    Thanks!
  • Ok. We did checked your site and looks like you are using very old theme version (4.0) which was loading styles in different way than we do it now. Your files are loading from http://www.jamesgoldbeck.com/wp-content/themes/betheme/style.php?ver=4.0 and looks like this file is blocked by your server. That's the reason why styles doesn't work.
  • I have tried to update my theme several times. Where is the update for the theme? I have downloaded and uploaded the new files as you have released. Please advise...
  • I cannot find any way to register the theme and updated it through WordPress. I am an advanced user and cannot find the update. Do you know how or why my server would all of a sudden not allow the file? I will have to contact GoDaddy to resolve that.
  • Could you clarify why the theme file doesn't display except when I am logged in? I am unaware how to present that information to the right individual. Thank you so much! I am looking forward to resolving this. My site looks horrible like that and as a digital consultant I have recommended your theme to more than 10 people thus far and I just became familiar with you last year.
  • If you are an advanced users, you should know that the best way for any updates is FTP. This is the safest method to be sure that all files transfer properly. Please look at http://themes.muffingroup.com/betheme/documentation/#installation where we explained how to update theme files thru FTP to recent version. However, if you prefer to fix current version, you should contact with your admin and ask why above files can not be opened because this issue is not related with theme at all.

    Thanks for understanding!
  • I do know the best way for updates is through the FTP. That is how I process my updates. I have updated the theme on 10-05-2015, 11-09-2015 and now today 11-27-2015. I asked in case you had an alternative method that may solve this issue.

Why does the theme file show on every single page except the home page? And it displays when I am logged in. It does not show to visitors who are not logged in. I have contacted GoDaddy and they do not feel it would be on their end. I have updated WordPress and all. I am lost and was hoping you could help.

  • To be honest, we have no idea what may be wrong. We are sure that it's not because of the theme because you can install this theme on other server and you would see that everything would be fine. All we can suggest is to deactivate all plugins. However, if this won't help, then only update left.

You said above, that you had updated theme on 11-27-2015. We don't know what you updated but your site is still out of date. There is still 4.0 version what means that you did not touched this site.
  • Thank you so much for your help. The issue was resolved. It was an old plugin that is no longer installed or even on the server. It was in the Htaccess and config.php file. Cache plugin. If that helps for future resolve.
