I committed, bought and installed theme. Now what? Lots of questions...

Hi. I am having difficulty.

First, I got Be|theme theme. The demo I am using is Book.

I am finding it very challenging to make changes but I am willing to learn.

In order to learn, I have been studying Support most of the day. And yet here I am.

My first question is why is there no answer–only comments–when I got to the pinned support questions? Like so. All I see are comments.

Next, while I was able to choose the Book demo, I cannot seem to change images or anything really. Where do I go to change the Home image, for instance?

In this video, I see that there are setting under Revolution Slider tab. When I go there, it says I need to activate Revolution Slider plug-in. Like so:

Is that the case? Do I need to activate Revolution Slider in order to make it function? Do I change images here?

Speaking of which, my home page has a header at top, with the words Home and a smaller Home across the top. Like this:

As you can see, there is an image in the back at top. I tried uploading image at Pages > Home > Featured Image. Yet all I get is what I got, the strip across the top. How do I change these? (In the Book theme preview, there is no bar at all.)

Ah ha! I got it. Go to Pages. Go to Backend Editor. Click on the little pencil symbols and suddenly everything is revealed! YAAAAAY!

OK so I still don't get the bar at the top (second image). Why is that like that? How do I change it?

Do I need to activate plug-in?

Oh boy. Now I REALLY screwed up. at Appearance > BeTheme options > Sidebars, I pressed Reset to Defaults.

Now then pretty much everything disappeared. Much of the theme's design.

Here's what I have now:

I uninstalled the theme. Reinstalled. No avail. So I uninstalled, deactivated plug-ins, and reinstalled. Nope. Reactivated the plug-ins again. Nope.

Help?

Okay here is what I've got.

So why is that bar at the top with Home and Home text? How do I get rid of it?

AND how do I get rid of/switch out image in sidebar?

The section where Home is, it's subheader and you can remove it for each page separately under Page Options when you are editing page. You can also remove that white empty space at the top. It's Content Padding under Theme options > Global > General section. But this background on the right side under menu, was probably made with custom css under Theme options > Custom CSS & JS > Custom CSS section.
