Site loading very slow

http://dev.thinkreliability.com/ is loading very slow.

I was able to speed it up some with caching on the site, as well as some custom code in functions.php to:

Defer the parsing of javascript
Remove query strings from static resources

This helped some, but it's still very slow...generally some. But sometimes it goes fast on certain pages.

The caching plugin I'm using is W3 Total Cache, which I use all the time.

I'm not a server guy, but I do know there are certain things that are done on the server side by company's like WP Engine. I personally use Site Ground on an ecommerce site, and simply moving it there alone sped the site up from 6 seconds to less than 2.

So can you recommend anything as the developer of this theme to help me speed this site up? Are you aware of any common issues or certain plugins that really slow the BeTheme down?

Hi,

if you use W3 Total Cache then all we can recommend as well is MaxCDN service and static styles. There is nothing except those things. We use them all on our demo and site works fast even if we got over 200 people online for all the time.

I followed the instructions to set up static files at http://173.254.96.214/~thinkrel , but it seemed to break the css. The top bar turned black, the fonts changed, the link colors and men background colors changed, to name a few.

Did I do something wrong? Could it be because I am also using the Microthemer plugin to fully customize css beyond theme's them options?

Looks like you copied wrong section. Please check the section of how to set static files because you did it wrong.

I followed the instructions completely. I am running v 9.6, so I copied the css from the header (as shows on the source code of the home page), and pasted it into style-static.css

Do you see a reason why it isn't working as your documentation describes?

No, this css is wrong. We have no idea where from you get it but our css is whole in one line and is much longer and bigger than what you presented above. Please turn off static css and try to find the right css once again.

The first thing I did was copy the css from style.php and style-colors.php into style-static.css

But then I saw in your docs that if we're using v 9.6 that we should just copy the css from the actual source code. So that's what I did. I copied the css between the <style> and </style> from the source code of http://173.254.96.214/~thinkrel into style-static.css

Was that wrong? If so, what css from the source code am I supposed to use. Your docs didn't clarify that.

Did you saw on http://themes.muffingroup.com/betheme/documentation/#static-css the image which presents how css looks like? This is how your css should look like in header. You can compare it with your css and you will see a big difference. You copied the css which belongs to one of your plugins probably.
