Actually, i do not believe that is the case at all. I was able to finally figure it out and be able to upload beyond the 10 (and still counting). my server host allotment is crazy large so i never suspected that to be the problem which it is not. with some trouble shooting, what i found was I needed to make sure of was that every portfolio item i added needed to have a title filled out at the time of insertion to the Database.
a little bug in the theme if you ask me. if a title is not filled out, the theme should either alert you that it is a required field or allow that field to be blank. i.e.: that should NOT be a unique identifier to the portfolio database. I hope it is not! I may need more than one item titled the same. Anyway, this is what I learned.
WOW, really? We did never met with anything like that before. Can you show us on screenshot which title field you mean exactly? Because that's totally weird and we would like to check it on our side.

you are unable to save the content only because of the limits on your server side. More details about that you can read in the following topic http://forum.muffingroup.com/betheme/discussion/7689/muffin-builder-items-or-page-options-can-not-be-saved-max-input-vars
Thanks!
