EDIT POST HEADER LAYOUT (IMAGE/TITLE)

How can I edit the POST page (Blogger 2) we currently have a coloured box with the post title in but want to replace the blank box with an image and perhaps put the post title outside the box - maybe just above the main post.

This seems an easy edit but whatever I try doesn't work?

I have changed the image but the TITLE appear s over the top of it and the image doesn't stretch full width etc so background is shown to be different colour. How do I edit to fix?

The image use used is only 1250px width so it won't be full width obviously. But can you explain what exactly you want to do with the title in subheader? Change it's color or what?

We wish to remove the title from the image area and have it lower down in the main content of the blog post

So to move it down, you need to increase top padding of Subheader under Theme options > Header & Subheader > Subheader section.
