Error in Muffin Login Footer Widget

Hi there,

when using the Muffin Login Footer Widget i get some errors displayed

within the footer like

/var/www/html/develop/wp-content/themes/betheme/functions/widget-login.php on line 38

and

Notice: Undefined variable: show_register in /var/www/html/develop/wp-content/themes/betheme/functions/widget-login.php on line 94 Notice: Undefined variable: show_register in /var/www/html/develop/wp-content/themes/betheme/functions/widget-login.php on line 95 Notice: Undefined variable: show_forgotten_password in /var/www/html/develop/wp-content/themes/betheme/functions/widget-login.php on line 96

How do i fix this?

Hi Ben,

please update theme files via FTP because the problem might be related with incomplete files. But please do this via FTP only.

i always do so. i upload the zip files betheme.zip and betheme-child.zip to the Themes folder and unzip via terminal. is that wrong?

No, not like that. We mean to unzip file on your computer and then upload unzipped files via FTP client like Filezilla.

what should that do essentially different from unzipping via terminal command? it just takes much longer to upload the plethora of unzipped files via ftp? Is that described as best practice?

but it is working right now... strange! Thanks a lot!

I entered a title in the Title section of the Widget and the error was gone. even if i delete the entry afterwards and save the error is gone :-)
