Hello,
Images are neither showing on the website nor in the dashboard media page:
Any ideas?

It seems this is a file system permission problem.
I have set the folders to 744 and the media files to 644
as
requested
, but still no change.

Hi,
theme does have nothing to Media. You supposed to contact with your admin because looks like it's something on server side.
