read more tag doesn't hide more

Hi there,

I've tried to add the read more tag to a text-block. But on the page it just shows the whole text? Any idea how this can be?

I meant the  tag

The backend of the text block is:
I am text block. Click edit button to change this text. Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipiscing elit. Ut elit tellus, luctus nec ullamcorper mattis, pulvinar dapibus leo. Now a read more is added:

Ehm, ok. It's a fairly basic feature imo.

But i cannot add an excerpt field to a text block afaik?

For the text block you can't. It is reserved for Posts.
