Why is there extra content in blog archive list.

Hi,

if you look at your demo :
http://themes.muffingroup.com/be/recipes/category/breakfast/

you can see that there is a whole block of content which is inside a <div class="extra_content"></div

This page should only list all posts from the "breakfast" category and here you can see that there is unwanted extra content (which is the content of the first post of the list)

This seems like a huge bug, can you correct it please ?

  • i found this code inside de the index.php template :

    <div class="extra_content">
                    <?php
                        if( category_description() ){
                            echo '<div class="section the_content category_description">';
                                echo '<div class="section_wrapper">';
                                    echo '<div class="the_content_wrapper">';
                                        echo category_description();
                                    echo '</div>';
                                echo '</div>';
                            echo '</div>';
                        } else {
                            mfn_builder_print( mfn_ID(), true );
                        }
                    ?>
                </div>

    So i figured out that putting a description to a category removes post content inside the extra_content div and put the category description instead...

    But why would you show the first post content ? i don't get it
  • Hi,

    we forgot to set blog page under Theme options > Blog, Portfolio & Shop > Blog section. We already set this page under this section and extra_content does not display anymore.

    Thanks!
  • Hi,

    I have this same issue. Extra content is been showing at ../offer-types/servicos/ above the posts.
    Why this is happening? The theme is accountant. I am setting index.php like above. This can may be a problem?

    <div class="extra_content" style="display:none;">
    <?php
    if( get_option( 'page_for_posts' ) || mfn_opts_get( 'blog-page' ) ){
    if( category_description() ){
    echo '<div class="section the_content category_description">';
    echo '<div class="section_wrapper">';
    echo '<div class="the_content_wrapper">';
    echo category_description();
    echo '</div>';
    echo '</div>';
    echo '</div>';
    } else {
    mfn_builder_print( mfn_ID(), true );
    }
    }
    ?>
    </div>
  • @arymaynart To do not display wp content on blog page, you need to set blog page in 2 different places: Theme options > Blog, Portfolio & Shop > Blog and Setting > Reading sections.
  • Already did that. And keeps same thing.
  • @arymaynart What's the link of your blog page then?
