How To Edit Custom Post Type Template?

I created a custom post type for Sex Offenders using the plugin Toolset Types.
I reached out to their support because my custom post type is displaying the share box, love box, click view all takes you to the blog, and previous/next buttons are not working correctly. They said it has something to do with the template single.php used for the theme, but I tried making a copy of single.php and calling it sex-offender-single.php and it didn't help. How can I use a different post template for this custom post type?
