Only Part of Demo Content has installed.

Hi Guys
I'm back with a third installation of BeTheme, this time for my own site, hurray, never too late is it?

I am going with the Portfolio theme and all that is installed with the demo content is the main 2 images from the Rev Slider, nothing else.
Can you please check for me and see what I have missed, not that I feel I have

  • Hi,

as we can see, your demo has not been imported completely. Looks like you imported the default layout first and then you decided to import one of pre-built websites. Please notice that each demo has own settings/options so when you import another layout, you overwrite the settings and options from the previous one. What you supposed to do is only one demo import per one wordpress instance. So if we may suggest something, we to remove all data, you should use Wordpress Reset plugin to clear whole current content. But please remember that this plugin removes all data, like: pages, posts, settings, etc what means that your Wordpress would be again as clear as after first installation.

    Thanks!

  • Thank you, Ok, will start again, with the Demo content for the Portfolio Theme, am I to import it via the Demo import or doing it via the xml way?

    cheers
  • 3rd time no luck, It does take a while to run the demo content install, it does not come back with that usual message Have Fun though.

    Any ideas? cheers
  • There is only 6 images in my media library, my Gecko Logo and 4 images from RevSlider, nothing else.

  • Ok, thanks for this complete information because we know what's happening now. The problem is that your server is unable to import complete demos because of the limits on server side. Please go to theme folder, create php file with phpinfo() function inside and send us link to that file so we can have a look on your server settings. The problem is related with those limits but to be sure which one is the reason, we need that link.
  • Here we go:

    hope that solves the problem.

  • Ok, thanks. So we found some issues:

    - minimum PHP version required by WordPress is 5.6 while while your PHP version is 5.5.
    - max_input_vars is limited to 100- while should be 5000 or even 10000 for better results
    - max_input_time is set to -1 while should be 180 or larger

So please contact with your admin or hosting provider because these settings need to be increased on server side.
  • thanks very much, I will contact them asap
  • Well what do you know, I did it myself, able to adjust two parameters via Cpanel and max_input_vars via the ini file, my customer service rep said they can only help with so much.

Ok, now where to from here, Reset Wordpress? start again?
  • You must be using one of those better hosting services where it is possible to update settings thru hosting panel. Most hosting services does not allow to do this. Anyway, to start again, you need to remove whole data with Wordpress Reset plugin. But please remember that this plugin removes all data, like: pages, posts, settings, etc. Your Wordpress would be again as clear as after first installation. It means that you need to start again.
  • Ok, very lucky, I was surprised that they let me do it, I thought they were very protective of users causing hassles.
as I said in an earlier message, I am setting this up for myself and my files haven't been used yet, again thanks for your help

    regards

  • I have spoken too soon, damn!! OK, not much different from before.
Went back through a complete uninstall and re-install of Wordpress then Theme then demo content, what happens is it just hangs, it doesn't come back with the usual message "Have fun."
    SO,

Can you check again for me, I am no3 in the queue of my server's help line. zzzzzzzzzzz
Maybe there is something we've missed.
    cheers

  • @trillionbillion Please send us private message with dashboard and FTP access then so we can enable developer mode and check what's your limits. But please clear your WP using WP reset and just leave clean WP installation so we can check it on clean installation.
