Responsive Menu text alternative - positioning

Hello,

In an ideally world I'd like to have the menu displayed on smaller screens, since it is only very small.
If this is not possible, then I would like to change the three line symbol to text - but when I tried this, the text is almost all hidden.

For example, changing to "MENU" all that is visible is half the ENU.

Can you give me an idea of how to change this, I presume via custom CSS.
