Revolution Slider and Featured Image not working properly

edited December 2016 in Revolution Slider
Hi,

Here you can see a lot of extra space (or padding?) applied to the revolution slider:  http://www.buyradiohits.com/test/ also if I set a "featured image" on a page it does not show up (which you can see here http://www.buyradiohits.com/), since these both happen in the header I figured something has gone wrong in the header, but I don't know what. Any ideas? (I'm working off the default demo as a base http://themes.muffingroup.com/betheme/)

Or, is there a way I can provide more helpful information since a lot of things could effect these issues?

Also, where would I change the color surrounding the Revolution Slider? within Revolution Slider I changed the background to Charcoal (#4f4f4f), but that did not effect anything.

Thank you

  • Hi,

the slider is not full width because you didn't set it as full width. But header's background, does not appear because you did not disabled Minimalist option for header under Theme options > Header & Subheader > Header section which is required to display background in header. However, as we can see, your header's background is too narrow (only 990px width) and definitely you should upload a wider - full hd (1920px width).

    Thanks!

Thank you! That made things better, but there are still some strange things happening

    1) the slider is kind of responsive, if the screen gets smaller the image gets smaller accordingly but the header does not, and as a result the header gets bigger and bigger, what am I doing wrong that is causing this? Fixed by using layers instead of background image

    http://www.buyradiohits.com/test/faq/
    2) featured image shows now but is cut off and I don't see how to change the background color, in the options it only has "Style- choose between whitedark and same as Top Bar left background colors." just like the documentation says

    3) how do you change the color or font of all p or h tags within a wrap or column in the muffin builder - searched google and documentation nothing popped up

    Thank you :)
  • 1) Header backgrounds are not responsive and never wasn't. This is technical issue between being responsive and css backgrounds and this has nothing to do with the theme.

    2) If you use Custom skin, you can change header's background color under Theme options > Colors > Header section.
  • Hello!

I am getting crazy trying to understand why the grey strip at the bottom on the revolution slide doesn't stay where I want it to be, which is at the bottom of the Background image, with the thumbnails and related titles all in the grey space vertically centered. I think it has something to do with the background settings or the dimensions of the slide revolution... And it shows differently in the different browsers.

Scrolling down the page a bit, the bottom of the background image should be the same point where the big dark background below starts and where the bottom of the grey strip under the thumbnails should end. Hope I gave you a clear description.

This is where you can see the problem: http://lnx.greenb.it/chi-siamo-2/

I'll be happy to learn from you

    Thanks! valeria

  • If we understand, the grey stripe supposed to be just under the thumbnails. This is how it looks like on our end right now http://pasteboard.co/rqO2K6EV7.png

Please make sure, all elements on slider revolution are positioned from the bottom (we mean both: navigation and this bar) and then they shouldn't move relative to each other http://pasteboard.co/rqRSBvwKb.png
  • Thank you Muffin :)
What you see your end is exactly what I see on my Mac Book using Safari. In a colleague's pc and in Google Chrome the grey bar and the thumbs are lifted up a bit.
I will fix the thing following your advise and let you know. Sounds pretty clever what you say.
Not sure all problems will disappear though. I mean: how do I make sure (if possible) that on all screens of future visitors, the navigation thumbnails are fully visible? Because the dark grey area begins some 20 or 30 px below the screen where the background image ends.
I follow your instruction first and will be back to tell you if all is ok.

    Too kind of you
    talk soon

  • HERE I AM... seems everything is ok :)
Just a last question on the subject. Could it be that I am seing the slide revolution exceeding at the bottom because I am visualizing the page within Wordpress? The slide revolution exceeds at the bottom apparently exactly the same as the height of the toolbar at the top.
When I access from a different browser and out from WP, the limit of the slide revolution coincides with the screen bottom.

    cheers!

  • Yes, this might be the reason of course.
