License

Hello,

I have got one question concerning the license contract:

I understand, that it is possible as a freelancer to buy a regular license for betheme and built a website for a customer.
For each customer I am engaged to buy a new license/betheme.

I found the following passage in your FAQs:

I'm a freelancer/agency. Can I use the item for an end product I'm doing for a client?

Yes. You're essentially buying the file on your client's behalf. Whether a regular or Extended License is needed will depend on your client's use of the end product. With both the regular and Extended License you are allowed to charge your client for creating the End Product. Once you transfer the end product to the client (eg giving them source files for the item), be sure to link your client to our licenses and delete the item itself from your computer.

I am not sure, what ist meant by "link your client to our licenses".

I guess it is not necessary that in the License Certificate the name of the licensee is the name of my customer, because I purchased the product for my customer?

Where concretely I have to mark or write down or "link", that the product/license belongs to my customer?

Best regards

Nora

  • Hi,

the license was made by Envato so if you have any concerns about the license, you should ask Envato staff about. As far as we know, this points says that you should pass the license details to your client if the license belongs to him and do never use it for other projects.

    Thanks!
  • Thank you very much!
    I guess, I understand now.

    Best wishes
