How to restore the site settings from the database?

edited February 2017 in Theme support
Hello,
I moved the site to a new domain, and unfortunately did not export in theme settings. I have all the site files and MySQL database dump (there are still many previous backups). Access to the old website no longer exists.
In new domain, when I connect to the site database, betheme settings are reset to the default (and not see the whole content of pages that have been made in muffin builder).

The dump database have all my settings and content. The settings in the table in wp_options "betheme" option, but when you activate the theme, they become the default. And I need to again import the database dump.

Please tell me how to get from the database configuration and content pages, and disallow template betheme set the default setting.

Thank you

  • Hi,

for site migration, we always use 2 plugins and did never had any problems with content or settings migration. Those plugins are: WP Migrate DB and Mfn CB Migration Tool. And because we don't know what you did and how and if you did not made any changed directly in database, we have no idea why it does not work as should on your site but it definitely should be default.

    Thanks!
  • Hello,
I realized my mistake, but now I do not have access to the old site.
Dump the database was made manually via phpmyadmin.

You could tell how to disable a rule in which the theme settings entered in the database?
And that theme took presets from the database, and not to prescribe their own?

    Thank you
  • What rule you mean? If you ask, how to decode database muffin options content, it is not possible. The whole data is encoded because of security reasons.
  • I need to read the template settings from the database, and not replaced them with his own. At least once.

    Thank you
  • We are sorry but like we wrote above, the whole data is encoded because of security reasons and there is no way to decode it from a file.
  • But in the database in all settings, my CSS, visible. They're not encrypted.

How to restore the content of pages and posts made in muffin builder? It is also seen in the database.

    Thank you
  • But do you know that by digging in database, you can do more harm than good? What will you do if you copy wrong data, data would be incomplete or something has change and you will destroy whole site (including clearing database completely)? Please understand that the only way to safely migrate site is to use the plugins we gave you in our first reply. But to do this, you need to have access to both (old and new sites). So we are really sorry, but we won't be able to help you in this case. Please also notice, that any customization are not allowed and this was clearly explained in Item Support Policy:

Item support does not include services to modify or extend the item beyond the original features, style and functionality described on the item page. For customization services that will help you tailor the item to your specific requirements, we recommend contacting the author to see if they privately offer paid customisation services or checking out the great service providers on Envato Studio.

The only thing we can do is tell you where in database are stored specific details:

    - theme options are located inside 'wp_options' table > 'options_name' - 'betheme' field.
    - pages content, muffin builder and page options are stored wp_posts and wp_postmeta tables.

So please remember that all modification, you do on your own and we are not responsible for them in any way.
  • Absolutely nothing to lose, because there was nothing left of the site.
Somewhere on the forum you have written that can help backup host, but it turns out that without the export of its threads it is useless.

Thank you, I know in which tables are the theme settings and content from muffin builder, I wrote about it in the first post.

You could make a recovery payment?

    Thank you
  • Sorry but we do not understand. Why we should do a "recovery payment"? Refund policy was clearly explained on https://themeforest.net/page/customer_refund_policy and only in these cases, we can  provide refund. Also, you've been using this theme in the past and we can not agree on refund just because you changed mind.

    Thanks for understanding!
  • This translation difficulties on Google Translate)))))
    Let's try again:
You can restore a site for the money?

    Thank you
  • Sorry but we do not offer such customization and if you are looking for someone who offer such service, please contact with WP Kraken team as they offer such service.
  • Well, when you restore from a backup that creates hosting, there must be all the pages that have been created in the muffin bildere? Why in these pages do not have content? And how to restore it?

    Thank you
  • I need to restore the content of pages made in muffin bildere, please give some answer how to do it. It must be restored from a backup are now blank page.
The settings that I asked earlier, I will restore manually. Now I need a content page.

    Thank you
  • We are really sorry but we already gave you all necessary information and please understand that we can not be responsible for your actions when it comes to website migration. And because we are not your dev, nor didn't made this migration, we have no idea what happened during migration process and why exactly you lost builder content.

The content after migration, should be in the same place as was before this process and if it's not, we have no idea what happened and what you did exactly. And because of too many non-obviousness, we don't have any suggestions unfortunately.

    Thanks for understanding!

The database is intact, and there are several previous backups hosting.
All backups manually unloaded from phpmayadmin, everything worked perfectly.

Now there is content on the pages and posts, which were created in the WordPress editor, but there is no content that was created in a muffin builder.

What you need to know more to help me? Please ask me the right information, try to help me, it's your reputation. Let's together with you will reduce non-obviousness.

    Thank you
  • The pages in the admin editor muffin builder empty, but in the custom field WordPress mfn-page-items-seo content exists:

  • Sorry but it appears that your data is corrupted. The only problem we can see is that the database encoding used is different for the exported database. IF you don't have access to the old server where the site was built we cannot help you. Trust us, we tried to help but our hands are tied.

I regained access to the old web hosting, and the old domain. Now everything is just as it was. It is possible in that case to do something?

    Thank you
  • Ok, use this plugin HERE
There is also a video tutorial there, please watch it very carefully.
This will help you moving the site
  • I regained access to the old web hosting, and the old domain. I took an old backup, but the same result:

    Thank you
  • Do not use the old backup. On the old site install the duplicator plugin HERE
There is also a video tutorial there, please watch it very carefully.
This will help you moving the site
  • Now I need to restore a site even if the old hosting and domain. I need to content from muffin builder was visible on the pages. Why me now duplicator?
  • If you do not follow our instructions we cannot really help you.
  • Duplicator is used to transfer site. Why do I need it now, if I need to restore the site?
Or do I need to create a duplicator backup and transfer you to analyze?

    Thank you
  • You need to backup your website with the database from the previous server using the duplicator plugin and transfer it to a fresh installation on the new server. You can watch the video tutorial on the plugin page. Please follow all steps. If you don't have access to the old server we cannot help you.
  • I have access to the old server.
I have access to the old domain.
Now I will not need to move the site until it is restored.
Now I need to recover data from muffin builder, to be visible on the page.
All transfers will be after recovery.
  • So the corrupted data is on the old server? At the beginning of this post, you have written that the site broke then you moved it.
  • Yes, corrupted data on this server itself.
I returned access to the old website hosting and restore from backup here.
    In my previous posts written.

    Thank you
  • I have read this topic carefully and i totally agree that my college already explained everything and there is nothing i can add to this conversation.

So, what you supposed to have is complete access to an old and new site. Then, on old site, you need to install Duplicator plugin and export 2 files (installer.php and archive zip file). Then, both files, need to be uploaded onto new server. If you will even watch the video on https://wordpress.org/plugins/duplicator/, you will see how easy in use it is.

Please understand, that you will not force anything else on us until you don't have an access to the old site because we simply can not get your data from the air and the only way to restore your website on a new server is what we both wrote above already. And we have nothing more to add to this conversation because it leads to nowhere and we loop around.

    Thanks for understanding!

You do not read my posts.
I now do not need to move the site.
I need to restore the old domain and hosting. It's all I need.
