Huge White Space at Top of All Pages & BeTheme Options Creating 404 Not Found

I recently got the email telling me there was an update for my BeTheme WordPress theme.

I now have a large amount of white space at the top of all of my pages and haven't changed anything.

Also, when I select "BeTheme Options" under Appearance, the page returns as a 404.

Please help!

i fixed the white space finally, but currently my issue is that:
    1. Visual composer isn't loading,
    2. my footer now says:
Parse error: syntax error, unexpected 'social' (T_STRING), expecting ',' or ';' in /home/adminheritance/public_html/blog/wp-content/themes/betheme/footer.php on line 123
    3. My sub-menu items can't be viewed because the '+' is now gone next to the "Community Information' menu item on my header on the left.

    HELP!

  • Hi,

To be sure, please deactivate all plugins first and refresh the site, if this does not help read the message below.

Please make sure that your PHP version is at least 5.6 and fields like max_input_vars and memory_limit are set high enough. You may be forced to contact your hosting provider in order to fix that.

To see the setting on your server please go to theme folder, create php file with phpinfo() function inside and send us link to that file so we can have a look on your server settings. The problem is probably related with those limits but to be sure which one is the reason, we need that link. • I've contacted the hosting provider and had my max_input_vars amd memory_limit increased. They said the PHP Info you want is: blog.heritance.net/phpinfo/php

I'm wondering if just updating the theme would do it, but I don't want to lose all my customizations.
  • if you did not change the files directly ( write code in files) then you will lose nothing. But we always advise making backups of your website.

Your max_input_vars is set to 1000 (default minimum on the server). Please make them set it to at least 5000, the more the better.

    thanks

  • I've increased the max_input_vars to 5000, and the memory to 500.

Will updating the theme repair all the issues I'm having?
  • Try deactivating all plugins first, if this does not help try to update the theme. Always make a backup before you update.
