Uploading image generates 30 files

Hi,

When I upload a photo using the image uploader in wordpress and I look in my uploads folder using ftp, there are about 30 files for every photo with all different kind of sizes. This is using a lot of my storage space and I wonder if this is necessary and how I can reduce this?

    Hi,
    This is how wordpress works, and we use these photos in betheme. Please do not remove them or try to make changes. But there shoud not be 30 of them, are you just overexaggerateing ?

    Thanks for the answer! The 30 pictures was a double upload, so it are about 15 pictures with every photo. Still consuming a lot of space, but if that's the way the theme works, I'll leave it like that :)
