Menu Items disappear when I save

Hello,

This site is really slow for some reason and then menu items have just disappeared. I tried creating a new menu and waited for all of them to load (which took forever) and when it finally saved it saved blank.

Hi,

please go to theme folder, create php file with phpinfo() function inside and send us link to that file so we can have a look on your server settings. The problem is probably related to limits but to be sure which one is the reason, we need that link. Please contact your hosting provider and set the max_input_vars to more that 1000.
5000 will be good.

on the server open the .htaccess file

ensure your code goes after:

# END WordPress

now try this:

php_value upload_max_filesize 64M

php_value post_max_size 100M

php_value max_execution_time 100

php_value max_input_time 200

php_value max_input_vars 1500

not all hosting providers allow changes through .htaccess, but worth a try...

max_input_vars is still 1000 on master value. We told you to increase it.

Why does it make a difference if the master value is still 1000? The local value is at the 5000 you requested. I don't know how to change the master value.

Also, putting this code in the .htaccess:

php_value upload_max_filesize 64M

php_value post_max_size 100M

php_value max_execution_time 100

php_value max_input_time 200

php_value max_input_vars 1500

creates this error:

Internal Server Error

The server encountered an internal error or
misconfiguration and was unable to complete
your request.

Please contact the server administrator at

and the actions you performed just before this error.

Additionally, a 500 Internal Server Error

To change the master value you have to contact your hosting provider. He is blocking the local values to work.

No and I tried putting in that code again in the .htaccess and got the same error as before.

I just got an email update from my provider and I guess one of the database tables was corrupt. It is fixed now that they fixed that.
