Homepage image smaller and content links background pattern.

How do I make the homepage image smaller? It's currently full size to fit the screen but I don't want it 100% fit the screen. How do I make it smaller so that the height will be at 50% of the screen?

Also when hovering over the content links at the bottom of the page.. why does some boxes show background pattern and some just solid background color?

To make the image smaller, go to the muffin builder, edit this section and change the padding it lower.

Now it is set to around 380px this is why it is so big.

When I hover on the boxes, nothing changes but a line that appears under them.

When I change the padding in the section, nothing works. It was already set to 0 and I've even changed it to -300px but it doesn't work.
