Need help identifying parameters to change in Betheme

Hi,
My Item Purchase Code ends with 29e276207879.

I want to make some changes to my website, testing.laughandheal.com, but I don't know how. And I do not want to change the code of the theme.

1. I entered my tagline in Wordpress parameter. What change is needed to have my tagline display under the logo?
2. How can I reduce the horizontal thickness of the area containing the label “Home”?
3. How can I reduce whitespace of the area
containing the search bar and the “Recent Posts” in the sidebar?
4. Same question as number 3 except for the footer?
5. How can the three social media icons/counts in the middle of the page for the "How to Bring More Laughter ..." post be removed?

Thank you.
Steve

  • Hi Steve,
    1. You cannot set the tagline under the logo, you could paste it with the logo as an image.
    2,3,4,5. What do you mean? Please make a screenshot. Use snag.gy

  • Hi,
    Thank you for the reply.
    I wanted to include a screenshot on my original request but don't know how to add it to this message panel/facility as I do not see an icon for an attachment. How can I add a screenshot?
    Thanks.
    Steve
  • Hold up answering this request. I just now decided to learn how to use snag.gy. I'll send screenshots as soon as I document the current problems with my site and make screenshots.

    Hello,
    https://snag.gy/LUaxiH.jpg shows the areas,  circled in red, on the screen that I want to change. The following link is to the original page: http://testing.laughandheal.com/how-to-bring-more-laughter-into-your-life/

    1. How can I remove the left pointing arrow in the upper left of the screen or is that arrow embedded with the program code for the title of the page?
    2. How can I reduce whitespace (padding) of the area containing the search bar and the “Recent Posts” in the sidebar?
    3. How can the social media icons and counts in the middle of the screen be removed?
    4. How can I reduce the padding of the area containing the footer?
    5. How can the 'Be' on the browser tab be removed?

    Thank you very much!
    Steve

    Thank you.

  • Hi,
    1. GO to theme options>blog,portfolio&shop>general and disable header navigation arrows there.
    2. You can reduce the white space with this css
    #search-3 {
    padding-bottom:0 !important;
    }
    3. This is some third party plugin, it is not in betheme
    4. Go to theme options>footer and select the layout to be full width.
    5. Go to theme options>global>general and the the fav icon. It must be an .ico file.
  • Hi,
    Issues 1, 4, and 5 are fixed. I still have issues 2 and 3 for which I would appreciate help.

    Issue 2: I placed the following code in theme options>custom css and there was no reduction in the padding.

    <div class="column one single-photo-wrapper image">

    Issue 3. The social media icons and counts must be in the theme because I disabled my social media plugin, cleared the cache, and they still displayed. Note they only display on a Post, not a Page. Below is the associated code.
    <div class="share_wrapper">
    <span class='st_facebook_vcount' displayText='Facebook'></span>
    <span class='st_twitter_vcount' displayText='Tweet'></span>
    <span class='st_pinterest_vcount' displayText='Pinterest'></span>
    <script src="http://w.sharethis.com/button/buttons.js"></script>
    <script>stLight.options({publisher: "1390eb48-c3c3-409a-903a-ca202d50de91", doNotHash: false, doNotCopy: false, hashAddressBar: false});</script>
    </div>

    Thanks.

  • 2. Maybe because you have browser cache and you do not see css changes immediately. Please clear your cache or disable cache plugins. I just visited your website and there is no space.
    3.We do not support third party plugins. We did not test it.

  • Hello,
    I still have issues 2 and 3 and would appreciate help. Reference old screenshot https://snag.gy/LUaxiH.jpg

    Issue 2: Once again, I  removed cache plugin, cleared cache, and placed the following code in theme options>custom css and there was no reduction in the padding, either above the word 'Search', below the search string entry slot, nor above the text 'Recent Posts'.
    #search-3 {
    padding-bottom:0 !important;
    }

    Issue 3. The social media icons and counts must be in the theme because I disabled my social media plugin, removed the cache plugin, cleared the cache, and they still displayed. Note they only display on a Post, not a Page. Below is the associated code.

    The code for those social media icons is in

    Betheme: content-single.php (includes/content-single.php)

    The code is from Muffin Builder as identified by prefix 'mfn_'in the code below. How do I turn it off?

    <div class="column one single-photo-wrapper <?php echo mfn_post_thumbnail_type( get_the_ID() ); ?>">
    <?php if( mfn_opts_get( 'share' ) ): ?>
    <div class="share_wrapper">
    <span class='st_facebook_vcount' displayText='Facebook'></span>
    <span class='st_twitter_vcount' displayText='Tweet'></span>
    <span class='st_pinterest_vcount' displayText='Pinterest'></span>
    <script src="http<?php mfn_ssl(1); ?>://w<?php mfn_ssl(1); ?>.sharethis.com/button/buttons.js"></script>
    <script>stLight.options({publisher: "1390eb48-c3c3-409a-903a-ca202d50de91", doNotHash: false, doNotCopy: false, hashAddressBar: false});</script>
    </div>
                                           (relate code in includes/content-single.php  not shown)
    Thank you.

  • Once again, you have marked with a red line the space below the search input field and told me you wanted to remove it. I did help you, here is the screenshot: https://snag.gy/ceynFr.jpg

    Issue 3:

    What you ask for, requires files customization what in reference to Item Support Policy is not allowed. So if you want to modify files and don't know how, you should contact with your web developer. Item Policy clearly says: Item support does not include services to modify or extend the item beyond the original features, style and functionality described on the item page. For customization services that will help you tailor the item to your specific requirements, we recommend contacting the author to see if they privately offer paid customisation services or checking out the great service providers on Envato Studio
  • Hi,
    Evidently, reduction in the padding around the Search area requires coding as does the removal of the social media icons/counts. I may put in a request to the author to remove those inadequacies on a future release.

    Thanks for your help.

    Steve
  • Hi,
    For your future reference, the social media icons n the middle of the page are due to the Share Box and it could be easily disabled under BeTheme Options > Blog, Portfolio & Shop > General section. However, I have not learned how to remove the large gap resulting in disabling the icons.

    Also, do you work for the Muffin Group or are you just voluteering on this site?

    Steve/Roy
  • Hi,
    Use this css to decrease the gap:
    .single .entry-title {
    margin-bottom:-20px !important;
    }
