Sidebar Widgets Disappear (Not Footer Widgets)

Hi BeTheme Support,

This is the 2nd time so far this has happened and I'm trying to prevent it from happening again. I'm unsure as to the exact reason but my sidebar widgets keep vanishing. This is the text that appears:

" This template supports the sidebar's widgets. Add one or use Full Width layout. "

This only happens to the sidebar, not the footer widgets and appears to happen at random. I've set a custom sidebar: Sidebar 1, through the Theme Options: which still exists inside the Theme Options < 'Sidebar' Tab.

Any assistance would be appreciated, look forward to hearing from you.

  • Hi,
You can create and set globally the sidebars in theme options>sidebars
If the sidebar has no widgets inside it will not appear on the page, therefore you have this messeage.
You can also set the sidebars on individual pages, when you edit them, look here: http://prntscr.com/f3xfp7
    thanks

    Hi Muffin Support

That is exactly what I did: and each time after a specific period of time, all of the widgets disappeared
in the sidebar: when I didn't delete them. My question was why my theme
was doing this and how I can prevent it from happening in the future.

Thanks and look forward to hearing from you.
  • Hello,
Sorry but we do not know why, this would not happen on it's own. Maybe some plugin you installed? Or have you switched to a child theme meanwhile? There could be many things, but it should not happen again.
    thanks
  • I am working on a child-theme, and the plugins I'm using are mainly ones that have no bugs. There is a caching system inside my wordpress: would that be the cause?

I'll re-comment on this ticket if the issue occurs again.
  • If you switched to a child theme in meantime, this is the case. You have to set up the widgets for the child theme again. If this problem occurs again, please let us know.
  • Understood.
