  can you explain what exactly does not work? Basically, 1&1 hosting is usually very limited and if something is wrong, it could be related with limits. If you would explain what exactly does not work, we'll try to help you.

  Sure: I started by setting up the space demo as detailed in the documentation. Turns out that afterwards, both the demo and the "betheme options" menu do not work properly:

  
  

  - The page loads, but with a "black" betheme, with very few images

  - The sidebar of the options menu displays, but nothing happens when I click on menu categories

  hi,
  
  thats a big problem on 1&1. I tested it and the Design > Theme Options won't work (nothing to see...all sections are display: none and the tabs won't work...firebug don't show any script mistakes). I don't find a solution for this. The javascript functions won't work.
  
  Now i think about to make a dns redirect to my own server to get it on work fine...
  
  @muffingroup: Have you any issue and solution for this javascript bugs?

  Ok, So everything is clear now. It means the server is very limited. In this case we recommend to deactivate all plugins first and after that click “Save changes” button under empty Muffin Options panel.
