You must use the Sidebar Menu template, and add a menu to it wich has icons assigned for the submenu.

ok done all that but if i edit a menu, edit and save a page etc the whole templates go blank and the site is unusable and all the work I put into the site disappears..

Please open Theme Options -> Global -> Buttons and check if all settings are correct.

Please open your header settings and set the mobile Body offset for header to Yes.

Making anchor links (in the menu or not) is simple as creating regular links.

It searches for the section with the appropriate ID to highlight in the menu. Otherwise, all menu items would be highlighted on One page websites, which is not the desired result.

Are you sure you did not remove the icons for the menu items?
