how can I reduce the gap/ height between the submenu and the menu bar?

I have purged the cache and tried disabling all plugins except for slider revolution, and it still happens. When the header builder plugin is enabled the header menu is set to show on the entire site.

We have made changes to your website to make it work, but you will have to change the widget with the list into a menu widget and create an appropriate menu for it.

Oh, you mean the menu. I thought that you refer to the main category page and description that shows in the content.

When you edit the Menu element in the Style tab, you can find an option to choose the color for the menu items.

For now we found a workaround – but since I want our client to be able to work on the site herself, I want it to "always work" as it was meant to be.

As a workaround, please use classic view or open BeBuilder in a new window.

There is no setting to change the icon to another, but you can use the Icon animation, and change it to rotate when the submenu is open.

Please go to Betheme -> Theme options -> Colors -> Menu, and change the Icon color.

You can use a Query loop to imitate menu items. In the wrap with Query loop enabled, put an element e.g. heading with title and permalink dynamic data.
