If you want the logo to extend beyond the menu then go to theme options>global>logo and check the 'overflow' option.

If you want to add a language swither in the menu you can do that in appaerance>menus.

this is the subheader image. Maybe you have selected a header image but it will not get displayed because the header is not shown, you only see the menu.
