If the image is smaller, then nothing will happen. If it is larger, it will be cut down to the size you set in theme options.

well, there is no video option in "deprecated" - and the "background" is a static image - see screenshot enclosed - thanks for Your help!

I have changed the background-size to cover.

It is a section background video, and you should find it in the deprecated settings.
