Hello, 

When I click on the Product Category menu ( created from the widgets menu), It takes me to a page with the results corresponding to that same category but the SIDEBAR disappears and contents of the sidebar appear under the products 

I would like to maintain the sidebar on the right for shop, product categories, tags, etc. ( everything related to shop) 

woocommerce support forum mentions it can be a problem of the theme as some themes allow for that sidebar to be kept in product category pages. 

EXAMPLE: http://www.offcyclers.com/product-category/home/

Hi,

it's because you did not set sidebar for home page. You can do this under Page options section while creating/editing pages.

Thank you!  That solved it!

just one more thing, the PRICE FILTER, doesn't seem to appear at all... 

Is it because I dont have enough products with different prices? or might it be something related to the updates you mentioned elsewhere?

Yes, this might happen because you have not enough products with different prices of course.
