Blog Categories in Muffinbuilder

Hi,
I would like to add BLOG Categories to my site using the Muffin builder. I am Not looking to add categories, I would like to add a section on a site that lists all existing categories. I am not able to see this option in the Muffinbuilder. I know there is an option/shortcode for it if I create the site using Visual Composer but I already created the site using the Muffin builder. Please let me know!
Thanks!

  • Hi,

    do you have example of such item? We are not sure if you mean just categories or maybe categories with posts.
  • Hello, thank you for your reply!

    Please see images at the link below. I am trying to show categories that were used for the blog posts. I don't need to show the No of categories as in the attached mage but I want to show all categroies.

    First image is the visual Composer - Add Element - Wordpress Categories
    Second image is the Result of adding the above to the website.

    As I mentioned in the first message, I used the Muffinbuilder for my site but to add categories I need to use Visual Composer which can only be added Before or After the Muffinbuilder.....

    Thanks for your help!
  • The same item you can use with Muffin Builder. This is a widget which is called Categories and can be set under Appearance > Widgets section.
  • Thank you. However, I have a 1 page Website and would like to add the categories to a specific row and place. Using the widget features I would only be able to include the categories to a Widget location, is this correct?

  • Yes, it is correct but you can use widgets with Muffin Builder. The item is called Sidebar Widget and with this item you can use widgets in any place you want on page.
  • Thank you! Neat feature,really appreciate your help!  I am currently customizing the css for it but I am not able to figure out how to change the layout so that The Name of the categories and the number of posts are on the same line. See image. Could you help me with that?

  • I am trying to customize the css but I am having trouble. I have tried the following but neither changes the background color:

    This is the css that changes the background when I inspect the element.
    .widget_categories ul {background-color: #ffffff!;}

    This is the custom css I created on the page, specific for the sidebar Widget.
    .blogcategories {background-color: #ffffff!;}

    Thanks for your help!
  • Please send us link to page where both are not in the same line and we'll help you. In reference to 2nd question, we do not understand what exactly you want to change. The background of muffin widget menu?

    Wish you great Christmas btw :)
  • Thank you for your message! Merry Christmas/Holiday to you as well!!!!

    Here is the link to the site. The area that I am trying to change, is positioned further down, blog categories.
    Questions 1:  currently this has a yellow background. I'd like to change that but my css seems to be incorrect.
    Questions 2: How can I make the category name and the no of posts on the same line?

    Thanks for your help!

  • 1) Where is yellow background exactly? Because we do not see any on above page.

    2) To make category names and no of posts on the same line, please use the following css:
    .widget_categories ul li a { display: inline-block !important; }
  • 1) My apologies, I was playing around with the theme colors. It´s back to orange now, please have a look almost at the bottom of the page, just before the contact section.

    2) Perfect Thanks!
  • 1) Ok. So to change this background and link colors, please use the following css:
    .widget_categories ul { background: #FFF !important; }
    .widget_categories ul li { color: #000 !important; }
    .widget_categories ul li a { color: #000 !important; }
