Should I use one of the demo pages to start creating new site?

edited December 2015 in Theme support
I've just installed Be Theme and going through documentation to set up it

There is template that suits best for design purposes, but it doesn't work good for my (planned) site structure.
What shoud I do?

- Install the demo first and then re-do it? And if so, shoud I use child-theme?
- Make site from the beginning with no uploaded demo (I actually began to do so, but smth went wrong and I cant create my first page from Pages > Add new command. I can't find thes command)

I need your advice...

And also how can I change Russian language to English in the UI?

Thank you

  • Hi,

this is quite difficult question and we can not clearly answer on it because everything depends on your and your skills. Basically, if one of the pre-made layouts nearly fit to your needs, maybe it would be better to start with the demo and re-design it a little bit. Child theme is mainly for more advanced users who want to customize code so if you are not such user, we do not suggest to use it. We do never use it because it's completely useless for us.

In reference to language, we have built-in translator (Theme options > Translate section) but it concerns front-end. But if you want to change back-end, you supposed to use Poedit.

Wish you all the best during Christmas time :)
