Hi,

When updating theme folder by ftp please always delete old theme folder and upload the new one,
not just overwrite files, because we sometimes delete some files and add new

if i delete my old folder wont my pages and posts get deleted?

If you did not modified theme files, you won't lose anything because all settings are stored in the database.
