Adding jquery in hooks

Is it possible to use jquery under global->hooks

I want to add a piece of jquery to run on each page, but i can't seem to get it to run.

no, this is not possible unfortunately. jQuery can be used under Theme options > Custom CSS & JS > Custom JS section only.

Can you show me a very simple sample jquery script that i can put there, because no matter what jquery script i add it doesn't seem to run. I just want to make sure jquery is working
