responsive behavior - eg. touch gestures

Hi there,

I am wondering about the responsive behavior of 2 of my recently created websites.


First of all the touch gestures pinch (zoom in and zoom out) and double tap to resize don´t work.

The websites i am talking about are www.intercultural-perspectives.com (Wordpress 4.3.3) and www.baumharz.at (Wordpress 4.4.2).


On www.intercultural-perspectives.com there is one additional issue:
The headerimages don´t seem to react responsive. I integrated them as "Background | Image" in the first page options section. I can imagine, that this is because of the integration as a background image. If so, what would be the better practice - in order to be responsive?

Btw: On the home page there is a text (visual editor item) inside of the above descriped section - this is also not working as expected.


I tested it on Samsung Galaxy S5 Neo with Firefox and Chrome Browser.


Would you please tell me your view on this issues.

Hello,

I learned from your answer, sent by email, that the problem here is that i used a background image ...

So how would a "simple" static header image be integrated as best practice?

I tried it with Featured Images - but the are behind the logo and main menu (classic layout).
And I didn´t find a solution yet how to position this featured image on pages under the menu.

Do you know?

Or would you apply some other method?

Background images are not responsive and never won’t be. It’s technical
problem between responsive and css backgrounds. This is the reason why
this behave can not be changed.

Because what you ask for requires background image, we do not have any method/solution. If anyone in the web would have such solution, it would be integrated with this theme. But it's not because it's technically impossible.
