Gallery in place of single portfolio featured image?

I have set a featured image there as well as a nice gallery (below the featured image). How can I get the gallery to replace the location of the featured image?

Yes, thank you. for others who may wish to do this, I edited the content-single-portfolio.php file.
Unfortunately, it will need to be re-modified after any update we install : (

Actually the way we accomplished it does not work for us. Can you give us the proper way to accomplish this??

What you ask for, requires files customization what in reference to Item Support Policy is not allowed. So if you want to modify files and don't know how, you should contact with your web developer.
