Hide author and date from search results

Hi,

I'm developing the site test.stjohnregional.org.
When I use the search function, it produces results with the author and date. I would like to hide the author and date.
Not sure which file I have to edit or if it is built into the settings.

If I edit this file and future updates to the theme are made, will I have to go in and make the same changes again if I update the theme via FTP?

to remove meta from search results, you can use the following css:

.search-results .post-meta { display: none !important; }

Just a note for others on the forum. I downloaded the BeTheme Update and loaded the files through FileZilla. If you want the search results to exclude the meta data (author and date) after an update you have to reinsert

.search-results .post-meta { display: none !important; }

into the stylesheet.css. Downloading the update changes the settings back. However, I believe if the stylesheet wasn't changed which you could use Beyond Compare or something to confirm, then you could just exclude the stylesheet from being updated.

This correct?

We suggest to keep all custom styles under Theme options > Custom CSS & JS > Custom CSS section so you don't need to change anything after theme updates because all settings under that section are stored in database.

Hi,

I've just seen something, maybe I'm wrong.

But shouldn't the CSS classes be separated with a comma that it would work for both classes? 

Like this:

.search-results,
.post-meta {
  display: none !important;
}

No because this is nested, if you would paste it like this then the whole page would dissapear.
