Home page not editable in Charity2

I installed Wordpress as usual, then install Betheme and then import the Charity2 layout, and when I try to edit the home page, via backend and frontend as well, I get a 404 error:

Ooops... Error 404
We are sorry, but the page you are looking for does not exist.
Please check entered address and try again

I set the permalinks to Post name, set the media to not to resize the images, and set to zero all the values.

So, please help me find the problem or is it me that is doing something wrong.
Thanks.

  • Hi,

we suggest to start from setting default permalinks because this might be the reason why you get 404 error.
  • Hello again:
With your suggestion is getting worst, I set permalinks to default, and I get an Internal server error message.
I check in the server the apache mod_rewrite and is enabled.
I will reset wordpress again, and test with another layout, and keep you inform about the result, maybe is the Charity2 layout that is not working.
    Thanks.
  • If you get 500 Internal Server Error, the problem must be related with server definitely.
  • I am having the same problem, only that's when I'll add some item on the page it does not save and returns with error 500 the same when I edit it. How do I fix this?
  • @itudo You need to contact with your admin as it's not related with theme.
  • Hey itudo!

I have a same problem. Any idea?

    Regards
  • We are 3 people, with the same problem.
@muffingroup, please point us in the right direction, to solve this problem, because I triple check the server, btw is a dedicated server, and all the settings are correct.
So, please tell us where to find, in order to solve this problem once and for all.
    My dedicated server specs:
    CENTOS 6.8 x86_64 standard
    WHM 56.0 (build 24)
    PHP Version 5.4.45
    Mysql version: 5.5.50
@itudo and @vision_design, please, if available, post in this same discussion your server specs.
    Thanks
  • @ccamachoc Yes, you are 3 on over 37.000 people. Is is so difficult to understand that 500 INTERNAL SERVER ERROR is an error on server side? Please notice that we do not provide any support for your servers as this job belongs to your admin, not us. If you don't know what
is included into support package, we suggest to read Item Support Policy.
  • @vision_design

The size of the url of the page is being limited by 'mod_security' contact admin server.
